Žabljak

One of the most beautiful cities in the North of the country is definitely Žabljak, where the Durmitor National Park and Black Lake are located. In the winter months when the lake freezes this idyllic scene becomes an inspiration to many photographers. In the near area it is possible to find a hiking trail that leads deeper into the woods all the way to Zminje Lake, while on the shores of Black Lake there is a restaurant/cafe. Black Lake together with the entire Durmitor National Park is a significant part of Montenegrin tourism during the winter months.

In addition to the national park, in the area of Žabljak there are beautiful areas of meadows and katuns where you can rent an apartment or a wooden cottage. In addition to the winter months, this is also very popular in the summer, due to the extremely mild and favorable climate during the hot summer months.

Kolašin

Another jewel of the northern part of Montenegro is the town of Kolašin together with its surroundings. The Biogradska gora National Park is located on the territory of this municipality. In the seat of this park there is one of the three preserved rainforests in Europe, whose trees date back up to four centuries.

Kolašin is also a town with two ski resorts, as well as an open cable car with a panoramic ride at one of the ski resorts. During the winter months, Kolašin becomes a center of social events due to extremely favorable skiing conditions and good ski slopes, which is why it is visited by tourists from all over the region and Europe.
